>Gopher Puck Banter

18 September 2007

>RWD’s Head LaP Watchdog over at Wild Puck Banter wrote a little ditty on why he hates the Gophers. I encourage my readers to go forth and multiply the reasons for hating those varmints.

    >Busting UMTC’s chops without making fun of the stupid rouser is akin to having a burger without cheese. It tastes good and all still but just isn’t fully realized.10,000 repressed 2nd place spelling bee contestants chanting 9 letters and enunciating them three times followed by a 1920’s “Rah Rah Rah” is R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S .. ridiculous ridiculous ridiculous ….

    >Guy sounds a tad bit jealous to me. If you guys want Bulldog hockey on the tube ask for it….but it does not sound like there is as big of a demand. I would not even mind if the dogs were on t.v. and I could pick it up, seeing I’m a closet Bulldog fan apparently, seeing more college hockey on a given night is never a bad thing!:D FHG

    >He did admit “some of the reasons I raised here are those of a beaten down, humiliated Bulldog fan,” so you are onto something there, FHG.

  4. 19 September 2007 1:24 am

    >Yeah … Yeah … that’s the ticket … that’s the only reason anyone dislikes the Gophers .. jealousy. Yeah … jealousy. We all dislike the Gophers because we’re … um … uh … like … um … jealous …

  5. 19 September 2007 4:47 pm

    >Donald Dunlop, did you write this article? I said the WRITER sounded jealous, not EVERY UMD fan…..and no you have no reason to be jealous. That was just the feel I was getting from the article, chill out dude!. FHG

  6. 19 September 2007 6:02 pm

    >LOL. @ “Chill out dude” … First you reply to a post where someone explains why they dislike the Gophers with the stereotypical omnipresent Gopher fan reply of “jealousy” … then you misperceive sarcasm for some sort of negative emotion on my part. Thank you. Not only have you provided me with a better laugh than I had when reading your first comment you’ve even taken a step toward the paranoia of a typical Sioux fan.Life is pretty sweet in the preseason.

  7. 19 September 2007 6:37 pm

    >Typical Sioux fan!? Now thats hitting a bit below the belt there, sir! ;D Never saw the smiley so I didn’t know you were being sarcastic. It’s pretty hard to tell nowdays with the deep hatred of the Gopher program….and their fans from so many opposing fans 🙂 FHG

    >HEYWe all know FHG is a closet BULLDOG fan.Don’t get things messed up, Donald. Also, as a public service to all RWD readers/commenters/haters: sarcasm is the main language here. If you read something, the default tone is sarcastic.

  9. 20 September 2007 4:46 am

    >RWD-It’s more fun to take things literally so we have some comments to make until hockey season actually starts and then we have something to comment on. Besides, we all know you are completely serious and never sarcastic so I’m doubting anybody can switch their default tone when reading your blog. You are 100% fact and 100% serious all the time. You should really lighten up. 😛

    >FHG- Evidently I am not even allowed to COMMENT on tWCHA blog, so I’ll say here what I tried to say over there, about your comment about the seats at tRalph being small: “I didn’t know your ass was so fat.”I don’t know what I did to your buddy over there, but evidently I’ve pissed him off.

  11. 20 September 2007 3:38 pm

    >If you swear in the posts he usually won’t put it though. And the fat ass comment is probably correct, but I’m not the only one who has mentioned it before. FHG

  12. 20 September 2007 4:33 pm

    >I should have said “fat badonkadonka.”Did Yolanda have one?

  13. 20 September 2007 4:56 pm

    >I keep hearing of this Yolanda person but don’t remember her. The joys of Duluth, half the weekend is a blur! FHG

  14. 21 September 2007 5:29 pm

    >He did do a nice write-up on the city of Duluth today on his blog. FHG

    >maybe if the best player in the history of you team wasn’t so dumb he almost drown himself, you would get better recruits…Why would iron range kids want to play with a bunch of 23 yr old Canadian freshman, when they could goto the U and play with their friends… the ones they have played with on select teams forever.

  16. 21 September 2007 10:57 pm

    >WOW! Just out of curiosity, ya think this guy’s a goofer fan??

  17. 22 September 2007 2:29 am

    >Somehow that person mixed tUMD and UND together. Isn’t that the chief complaint about UND, the “25 year old Canadians?”Whatevs. I wouldn’t say Junior was the best tUMD player ever, but that’s probably the only UMD player he’s ever heard of.

  18. 23 September 2007 1:59 am

    >Yep, uMd, uNd … easy for someone to get confused. Except they’re in different states. Just thinking he shouldn’t be talking about anyone being stupid, should he??

Well?
